Getting Started with Chemical Tracking

Getting Started with Chemical Tracking

Chemical Tracking helps you record what products are applied at each property, maintain applicator credentials, manage inventory, and produce the records an inspector may ask for.

Enabling Chemical Tracking

  1. Go to Settings and find the Chemical Tracking section
  2. Toggle Enable chemical tracking to on
  3. Configure compliance sub-settings based on your state's requirements (see Compliance Guide)
  4. Click Save

Once enabled, your team will see a Chemicals action button when working on jobs in the field, and you'll have access to the product catalog and license management pages.

Adding Your First Product

  1. Go to Settings → Chemical Products
  2. Click Add Product
  3. You can either:
    • Look up by EPA Reg # — enter the registration number from the product label and we'll autofill what we can
    • Add manually — fill in the product details yourself (best for fertilizers and non-EPA products)
  4. Set the default application rate, target pest/weed, and method — these become smart defaults for your field techs
  5. Upload the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) PDF if you have it on hand
  6. Click Add Product

Setting Up Applicator Licenses

If your state requires licensed applicators for pesticide application:

  1. Go to Settings → Applicator Licenses
  2. Click Add License
  3. Select the team member, enter their license number, state, type, and expiration date
  4. Optionally upload a photo of their license card

When Require applicator license number is enabled in your Chemical Tracking settings, your technicians will only be able to log applications if they have a valid (non-expired) license on file.

What Happens Next

Once you've added products and (optionally) licenses, your field technicians can log chemical applications directly from the job cockpit. Each application record captures:

  • Product applied (with a frozen snapshot for compliance)
  • Quantity, area, and application rate
  • Target pest/weed and method
  • Weather conditions (if enabled)
  • Posting-sign confirmation (if required)
  • Applicator license number (if required)

These records are available in Reports → Chemical Applications for filtering, export, and producing inspection-ready documentation.
