GPS Field Tracking

GPS Field Tracking

The field tracking map shows the real-time location of your field techs so you can monitor progress, answer customer ETA questions, and coordinate your team.

Viewing the map

Navigate to Field Tracking from the main menu. The map displays:

  • A pin for each active tech who has reported their location within the last 3 hours.
  • Each tech's name and job count for the day.
  • The route line if the tech has an active optimized route.
  • The time of their last location update.

How locations are reported

Tech locations are sent from the field tech mobile app automatically as they navigate between jobs. Location data includes GPS coordinates and accuracy level. Locations older than 7 days are automatically cleaned up.

What you can see

  • Current position — where the tech is right now (or was, up to 3 hours ago).
  • Today's jobs — jobs are grouped by assigned user so you can see which tech is working on what.
  • Route overlay — if the tech has an active route, the driving path is shown on the map.

Requirements

  • Your plan must include the Real-Time GPS Tracking feature.
  • Field techs must have location services enabled on their device.
  • Techs must be using the field tech mobile app (cockpit) which reports locations during the workday.

Tips

  • Use the map when a customer calls asking "When will the tech arrive?" — you can give an informed answer.
  • If a tech's pin hasn't updated recently, they may have GPS disabled or poor cell signal.
  • Field tracking is view-only for office staff — it doesn't change job assignments or routing.
