Referral Program
Referral Program
The referral program lets your existing customers earn account credit by referring new customers to your business. Referred leads arrive through your landing page with automatic attribution.
Requirements
- Referral Program must be enabled on your plan.
How it works (for business owners)
- Each customer with portal access gets a unique referral code and share link.
- When someone visits your landing page using that link (e.g.
yourbusiness.grunlo.com?ref=CODE), the referral is tracked. - When the referred person qualifies (based on your settings), the referring customer earns credit on their account.
Setting up the referral program
- Go to Settings → Feedback & Referrals.
- Toggle Enable referral program on.
- Set the Reward per qualifying referral (dollar amount credited to the referrer).
- Choose the Qualification rule:
- First invoice paid (recommended) — credit is awarded when the referred customer pays their first invoice.
- Signup — credit is awarded as soon as the referred person becomes a customer.
- Changes save automatically.
Tracking referrals
Referral credits and their status are visible on each customer's record. Credits can be applied to future invoices.
How it works (for customers)
From the Referrals page in your customer portal:
- Your referral link — copy and share with neighbors, friends, or colleagues.
- Share options — text a neighbor, email the link, or use your phone's share menu.
- Credit balance — see your available credit from successful referrals.
- Referral history — track which referrals are pending, rewarded, or applied to invoices.
You earn credit when the person you refer becomes a customer and meets the qualification criteria set by the business.
Tips
- Encourage referrals after completing a great job — satisfied customers are your best marketers.
- The referral link works on your landing page, so make sure your landing page is set up and looking good.
- Start with the "First invoice paid" qualification to ensure referral credit goes to real, paying customers.
