Setting Up Your First Job
Setting Up Your First Job
Once you have at least one customer in the system, you're ready to create your first job.
Create a new job
- Click + New Job from the dashboard or navigate to Work → Jobs.
- Select a customer from the dropdown (or create one on the fly).
- Choose the property where the work will be performed.
- Add a title and description for the job (e.g. "Weekly lawn mowing").
- Set the estimated duration — this determines when the system considers the job overdue and whether it needs to be split across multiple days. If left blank, it defaults to 30 minutes.
- Set the scheduled date and time window.
Assign a team member
- Under Assigned To, pick the crew member or team who will do the work.
- If you're a solo operator, assign it to yourself.
- Assigned team members see the job in their mobile schedule automatically.
Tip: Setting an accurate estimated duration is important. The platform uses it for overdue detection, automatic rescheduling, and multi-day job splitting. Match durations to service catalog defaults and category qualifications when your team uses them. Learn more about job lifecycle automation.
Add line items
Line items define what you're charging for:
- Click Add Line Item.
- Enter a description, quantity, and unit price.
- Add as many items as needed.
- The total updates automatically.
These line items carry over to the invoice when the job is completed.
Complete the job
When the work is done:
- The assigned tech marks the job as Complete from their mobile view.
- If auto-invoicing is enabled, an invoice is generated and sent to the customer automatically.
- The job moves to your completed jobs list with a full history.
