Service Catalog

Service Catalog

The service catalog is your master list of services and their default pricing. When you create jobs, estimates, or invoices, you can pull from the catalog instead of typing everything from scratch.

New accounts come pre-filled with common services for your industry. You can add, remove, rename, and set prices to match your business.

Getting started

  1. Go to Settings → Service Catalog (or click Review Your Services in the onboarding guide).
  2. Review the pre-filled services. Remove any you don't offer and add any that are missing.
  3. Set your default pricing for each service.
  4. Click Save Service Catalog at the bottom.

Field reference

Each service has a top row of core fields and an options row with additional settings. Fields marked required must be filled in; fields marked optional can be left blank.

Core fields (top row)

Field Required? Description
Name Required The name shown on invoices, estimates, and job line items. This is what your team sees when building an estimate or job.
Billing Required How the service is priced. Choose one of three options (see below).
Default Cost Optional A pre-filled price when adding this service to a job. Leave blank to enter pricing manually each time. You can always override this on individual jobs.
Unit Optional Only relevant for Per Unit billing. The label for the unit you're measuring (e.g. "yard", "sq ft", "bag", "pallet"). Dimmed when billing type is not Per Unit.
Default duration (minutes) Optional Pre-fills how long the service usually takes when building schedules and routes. Leave blank to enter duration per job. Helps the calendar and route optimization estimate the day.

Billing types

  • Flat Rate — A fixed price per service. Best for services with consistent pricing regardless of time or quantity (e.g. Lawn Mowing at $45).
  • Per Hour — Billed by time spent. The unit is automatically set to hours. Best for variable-length work (e.g. Irrigation Repair at $75/hr).
  • Per Unit — Billed by a custom unit you define. Best for material-based or area-based services (e.g. Mulch Installation at $65/yard).

Options row

Field Required? Description
Taxable — Checked by default. Uncheck if this service is tax-exempt. When checked, your account's default tax rate applies (or the rate override below).
Show on website — Checked by default. Uncheck to keep a service for internal use only — it won't appear on your public landing page but will still be available for jobs and invoices.
Category Optional Service categories group work for qualifications (who may perform the service) and for cross-sell on your landing page. When a customer requests one service, related services in the same category may be suggested. Leave blank if you don't use recommendations or category-based routing.
Different website name — Check this to set a separate customer-friendly name for your public landing page. For example, your internal name might be "Weekly Mow — Residential" while the website shows "Lawn Maintenance". When unchecked, the invoice name is used everywhere.
Rate override % Optional Override your account's default tax rate for this specific service. Only visible if you use flat-rate tax. Leave blank to use the default rate.
Stripe tax code Optional Assign a specific Stripe tax product code to this service. Only visible if you use Stripe Tax. Leave as "(use default)" to apply your account-level tax code.

Adding and removing services

  • Click + Add Service below the list to add a new row.
  • To remove a service, click the red × button on its row. You'll be asked to confirm so unsaved edits aren't discarded by mistake. The service is deactivated — historical jobs and invoices that reference it are not affected.
  • You can also create a new service on the fly from the job form. It will be added to your catalog automatically.

Pre-filled services for new accounts

When you sign up, your service catalog is pre-filled with common services for your industry (e.g. Lawn Mowing, Hedge Trimming, Mulch Installation, etc.). Default costs are left blank so you can set your own pricing. Review the list during onboarding and remove any services you don't offer.

Using the catalog in jobs and invoices

When adding line items to a job, estimate, or invoice, select from your catalog. The name, billing type, and default cost are pre-filled, saving time and keeping pricing consistent across your team.

QuickBooks sync

If you've connected QuickBooks, your service catalog items sync as Service items in QuickBooks. See QuickBooks Online for details.

Tips

  • Keep it tidy — remove services you no longer offer rather than leaving them in the list.
  • Use website names — check "Different website name" to show polished, customer-friendly names on your public landing page while keeping internal names practical for your team.
  • Set default costs — pre-fill your most common pricing to speed up job creation. You can always override on individual jobs.
  • Hide internal services — uncheck "Show on website" for services you offer but don't want to advertise publicly (e.g. emergency call-outs, internal labor).
  • Categorize for recommendations — assigning categories helps your landing page suggest related services to customers, increasing average job value.
