Auto-Fill & Slot Suggestions

Two complementary tools speed up scheduling:

1. Auto-fill — proposes how to place many jobs or hours across a week from the staff schedule area (preview, then confirm).
2. Find Best Slots — runs from the job form or reschedule flow to suggest specific appointment times that respect shifts, time off, crew rules, and service category qualifications.

Auto-fill (bulk week planning)

1. Open Schedule → Staff Schedules and locate the auto-fill / bulk fill action your role provides (wording may vary by version).
2. Choose the week and scope (which jobs or open assignments apply).
3. Preview — the system shows a proposed assignment map without committing.
4. Confirm — accept to write assignments to the schedule.

Use preview whenever you're unsure — undoing a bad bulk apply is slower than reviewing once.

Find Best Slots (single job)

When creating or editing a job:

1. Open Find Best Slots (or the scheduling suggestion panel).
2. Review ranked options with reasons (capacity, distance, qualifications).
3. Pick a slot to apply the scheduled start/end.

Suggestions use the same unified scheduling engine as route optimization and the schedule calendar.

Automation

You can skip the manual auto-fill step entirely by enabling daily scheduling automation in Settings → Scheduling → Automation. When set to Auto-plan or Fully automatic, the system runs the auto-fill process each morning, places pending jobs, and generates route drafts — all without any clicks.

Tips

• If every suggestion is empty, check qualifications on staff and crews and verify shifts exist for that week.
• Combine with deferring and rescheduling when customers change plans mid-stream.
